Paramedic Prep Program

Course Information:

The Paramedic Preparation Course is an interactive course, structured to prepare students for an intensive Paramedic Program. The class meets twice a week, for 4 weeks and students will be evaluated in the Didactic, Psychomotor and Affective Domains. Students completing the course will receive 56 hours of Continuing Education and will meet the Pre-Requisite for OCEMT’s Paramedic Program.

Course Description:

The course reviews the fundamentals of Paramedic Programs in a fast paced, intensive format that covers the following components:

Course Content:

  • Anatomy/Pathophysiology
  • Basic EKG/Treatment Plans
  • Pharmacology and Medication Dosages
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Patient Assessment
  • Traumatic Emergencies
  • Trauma Assessment
  • Written Examinations

*Must pass post-test with a score of 80% or better

Course Schedule:  August 7th – August 30th

Course Time:  Tuesday and Thursdays 9am – 5pm

The $200 registration fee is non-refundable. Payments must be made on or before the due dates listed for each class. Failure to pay on assigned date will result in being dropped from the program.


  • You must be currently certified as an EMT-B or EMT- I.

The required student workbook for the course is ECG & Pharmacology Student Workbook.  Please purchase the book before your class begins.  The book is available for purchase online.

Gail Walraven’s Basic Arrhythmias with 12-Lead EKGs (Eighth Edition). The book is available for purchase online.
