Course Information:

OCEMT offers an interactive paramedic prep program. Structured to prepare students to succeed in an intense and rewarding Orange County EMS career, OCEMT’s Paramedic prep program provides all inclusive, comprehensive and interactive training to throughly prepare students for any situation. Our Intensive Paramedic Prep Program best prepares students to successfully complete OCEMT’s rigorous and accredited paramedic program in order begin a lasting and rewarding career as a paramedic. The class meets twice a week for 4 weeks. Students will be evaluated in the Didactic, Psychomotor and Affective Domains. Students who successfully complete the course will receive 56 hours of Continuing Education and will meet the Pre-Requisite for OCEMT’s Paramedic Program.

Course Description:

OCEMT’s paramedic prep program is a fast paced, intensive paramedic prep class that reviews the fundamentals of Paramedic Programs. After successfully completing OCEMT’s Paramedic prep program, OCEMT students will possess an in-depth knowledge of the following components:

Course Content:

  • Anatomy/Pathophysiology
  • Basic EKG/Treatment Plans
  • Pharmacology and Medication Dosages
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Patient Assessment
  • Traumatic Emergencies
  • Trauma Assessment
  • Written Examinations

*Must pass post-test with a score of 80% or better

The $200 registration fee is non-refundable. Payments must be made on or before the due dates listed for each class. Failure to pay on assigned date will result in being dropped from the program.

PREREQUISITES

  • You must be currently certified as an EMT-B or EMT- I.
