EMT Courses – OCEMT’s EMT classes will best prepare you for your career as an EMT

Courses consist of an Accelerated Course totaling 212 hours of course material in Emergency Medical Technician Basic. The Course is specifically designed to prepare the student for a career as a professional Emergency Healthcare Provider in the pre-hospital setting. This course material is drawn from the current National Education Standards Curriculum. This program places a strong emphasis on academic achievement within the specified curriculum as well as a solid understanding of the importance of teamwork.

EMT Program Outcomes

The most current COE Annual Report was for the calendar year 2022.

The most recent success rate for the National Registry of EMT State Cognitive exam was 92%.

The most recent positive placement rate for graduates was 92%.  Positive placement is defined by the COE as ‘Employed full or part-time in a related field and/or continuing his/her education and/or serving in the military.  Positive placement is measured at completion of the program.

The most recent retention rate was 80%.
