OCEMT’s AHA courses – Orange County’s leading EMS education provider

The ACLS provider course is designed to arm healthcare professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively and efficiently manage adult patients with known or suspected myocardial infarction (MI). Students will review treatment protocols and play an active role in the resuscitation efforts of patients in cardiac arrest followed by post-resuscitation care.  Our AHA courses include a wide variety of cardiac based scenarios designed to thoroughly prepare students to effectively manage cardiac arrhythmias. Additionally, ACLS provides comprehensive training that meets the criteria to assist patients suffering from a Stroke.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – ACLS

The ACLS provider course is designed to aid healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively and efficiently manage adult patients with known or suspected myocardial infarction (MI). Students will review treatment protocols and play an active role in the resuscitation efforts of patients in cardiac arrest followed by post-resuscitation care. A wide variety of cardiac based scenarios will covered to ensure a students ability to effectively manage cardiac arrhythmias. ACLS also will cover criteria for patients suffering form Stroke.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support – PALS

The PALS provider course is designed to aid healthcare providers with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively and efficiently treat and manage seriously ill pediatric patients. Students will review treatment of the respiratory and circulatory systems, management of cardiac arrest and arrhythmia, and immediate post-resuscitation care.

Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider

The BLS course is designed for a wide variety of healthcare professionals. This course prepares candidates to successfully relieve choking. Students will learn to recognize signs of choking and provide CPR with and without the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adult and pediatric victims. The course teaches adult, child, and infant rescue skills in both out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings. This course meets the 2010 New Guidelines for CPR Healthcare Provider.

ECG Interpretation and Pharmacology

This course is specifically designed to address a key knowledge gap in Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Pharmacology. Basic arrhythmia found in ACLS and common cardiac emergencies seen in the field will be reviewed for maximum student retention. Nationally recognized ACLS medications will be discussed in relation to treatment for such cardiac emergencies.

Airway Management

The AHA Airway Management Course is a new and innovative program designed to give students opportunity to learn, practice and demonstrate many airway skills used in resuscitation. Airway adjuncts such as Endotracheal Tube, Combitube, Laryngeal Mask Airway, and BLS NPA and OPA. Troubleshooting difficult airway obstacles and Impedence Threshold will discussed as well.
